2 Types of Joints:
!) Rigid/ Fixed Joints: Do not allow movement and hold different materials FIRMLY together
  • Fasteners like nails, screws, staples and tape
  • Ties like thread, string and rope
  • Adhesives like glue
  • Melted joints through welding and smoldering

2) Movable Joints: Allow movement
  • Hinges
  • Ball and sockets

ALL joints need friction and bonding to hold the material together.
